How to Start Making a Solid Granny Square - Free Photo Tutorial

 







Yarn:  Stylecraft Wondersoft Cashmere Feel dk (White, Mint, Pink) 9g per square

Hook: 4mm

Size: 5’’ x 5’’, 13cm x 13cm


Glossary US terms:

ch: chain stitch

dc: double crochet (UK tr, treble crochet)

st: stitch

sl st: slip stitch



Gauge is not important for this pattern.


If you tend to make small chains, make 3ch in corners rather than 2 chains.


FCOR (First Corner): 2ch, 1dc, 2ch, 2dc in the corner window below

COR (Corner): 2dc, 2ch, 2dc in a corner window below

ECOR (End Corner): join with a sl st to the first dc in the corner (not the 2ch stitch), sl st to FCOR

Make 6ch, join with a sl st to the first chain (last from the hook) to form a ring. Or make a magic ring.
